Manage Questions in a Template

Add, edit, delete, and organize questions inside a questionnaire template.

Questions define what information is collected from candidates during hiring.
Changes here affect all jobs that use this template.

When to use this

Use this when you need to:
  • Add a new questions
  • Edit existing questions
  • Delete unnecessary questions
  • Change question types
  • Mark questions as required or optional
  • Rearrange question order

Do not use this to create or manage templates.

    Open a template

    • Go to Recruitment
    • Click Questionnaire Template
    • Select a template from the left panel

    Questions appear or the right panel.

      Important limitation

      Default questionnaire templates cannot be edited.
      To make changes:
      • Duplicate the default template
      • Edit the duplicated version

      Add a new question

      Steps

      • Click +Add More Questions
      • Enter the question
      • Select question type
      • Mark as required (if required)
      • Click Save

      The question is added to the template.

        Edit a question

        Steps

        • Click the edit icon
        • Update question text
        • Change question type
        • Toggle required or optional
        • Click Save

        Delete a question

        Steps

        • Click the delete icon
        • Confirm the action

        The question is permanently removed.

          Rearrange questions

          You can move questions up or down
          Use this to:
          • Control question flow
          • Improve candidate experience

          Question types

          Choose the type based on the response you need.
          Common types include:
          • Short answer
          • Paragraph
          • Dropdown
          • Multiple choice
          • Checkbox
          • Date
          • Number
          • File upload
          • Rating scale
          • Link
          • Radio button

          Use the simplest type that fits the need.

            What to be careful about

            • Too many questions reduce completion rate
            • Too many required fields increase drop-offs
            • Poorly written questions confuse candidates
            • Wrong question types create unusable data

            Keep questions clear, relevant, and minimal.
